about

Updated in 2015. This is our charity single to raise money for the Stratford Skatepark. Please donate to help impact the youth and families in Stratford.

Last year I was challenged to make a Christmas tune, however, once I attempted I ran out of time. This year I planned a bit ahead and got working on the track. I knew I needed some kids to sing on the track. I went to Evangeline Patterson. I let Darren know about this track and he said, "I have got a kid…lol". I said, "he must be musical, good genes eh!" Declan contributed to the intro and half of a verse to duet with Evangeline. Then came the nice surprise, Darren singer of The Salads and professional voice over artist offer to do the voice of Santa for this track. His words were inspired the sample I used from the Sesame Street Christmas album from 1976. It was a great opportunity to encourage this musically inclined pair of 7 year olds to sing and record at such a young age. I hope to encourage them and jumpstart their belief in themselves to start a hobby or establish a career in music. I hope by the time they are 13, they use their paper route money to acquire a studio of their own and release their own musical projects. It was a lot of fun working with these three talented individuals. Thanks for making my endeavour of a Christmas track come true. I acquired several Sesame Street records 14 years ago, and I had hoped one day to sample them and release them in some music. It is nice to finally have done that. The song is at its foundation is made with dub step, and jungle break beats and is influenced by interest drum n' bass and classical music. While producing it, I knew I needed the iconic jingle bells. I was going to borrow my dads set, but I ended up finding a sample in my vast library of sound I could launch with my midi controller keyboard. Once that touch was added the track seemed like a true Christmas song. It has been one of the funnest songs I have made to date. I anticipate rising to the challenge annually to produce a Christmas song. I look forward to more collaborations. Thanks for listening.
