My roommate Andrew was playing drums in the studio while I was trying to sleep. I could hear the drums though the floor. I got inspired by the beat that I could hear him playing. i thought as I won't be able to sleep during this, I might as well and get up and write s song using the inspiration. I listened in and counted the beat and used a tap tempo app to help deconstruct what Andrew was playing and recreated it in midi and wrote the music around it. I typically wouldn't write a song at 74 BPM but this took me into new terrtory inspired by his actual performance upstairs.
