This is a beginning point of a project between two friends. It is an album of improv with post-rock and post-metal leanings. Aaron and Nathan are two Canadian boys who share a passion for dreamy progressive and sometimes heavy and chaotic music. This music is a journey through some ideas swirling in their heads. Captured live in a jam room, this highlights some of the magical moments in the recording session. A lo-fi recording, nonetheless a seminal musical journey captured for what it is, indicating what will come in the future with more recording sessions and improved professional production. This is the instrumental version. A Remix Version of the album with vocals is to come in the near future. Feel free to do your own remixes and send them back to us. Ideas Behind the Title: Ice Skates evoke images of good times, glistening ice, and peaceful wintery landscapes, while Earthquakes evoke images of chaos, the unknown, and despair. Why is it, when people are experiencing travesty and chaos, they have a shimmer of hope that God will rescue them, such as in times like living through an earthquake. This album explores the feelings and textures from those experiences and takes the listener on a musical journey, through peace, chaos, and the unknown...hopefully arriving at a tranquil place at the end with peace of mind and resolution in their heart. Ice Shimmers in the light and so often does hope in dire situations, hence...The Shimmering EP. Enjoy the journey....Thanks for listening.
