I have a goal to make an EP of songs that are both mutually pleasing to adults and children. My friends, David, Steve, and Rob all have albums that are intended for children to listen to, but are essentially cover albums of artists that adults enjoy, like The Doors, Foo Fighters, and Bob Marley. My friend Steve said, “If I am going to sooth my kid while driving with this lullaby music, I better like it too.” He has a version of The Colour and The Shape by Foo Fighters done as a lullaby album. All the melodies are there, but the instrumentation is made with un-intimidating and soothing instruments like Glockenspiel and Marimba and Shakers. I took inspiration from this and thought what would a kiddie rave be like? What would Jungle and House sound like if targeted to kids and toddlers? This is the second song in a series I intend to produce that answers those questions. It is my Jungle Remix of Ba Ba Black Sheep complete with barn yard animal samples, mainly sheep, featuring vocals by 5 year old MadeNell a bold and curious little girl that would often interrupt me while writing at Revel to ask me curious questions about what my equipment was. She is the daughter of a seasoned actor Cedric Smith and I recently seen her perform at a The Black Swan coffeehouse with him. I thought she would be perfect to record on this track.
