This song was a fun experiment. Someone suggested to me how there are candid camera captures, but why not candid audio captures. I set out late at night after many of my acquaintances had been drinking. I went to Down the Steet patio where I met with Nate Appel. We wrote an 8 bar loop at 137BPM and he rapped over it. My mic was turned down low so his vocals were reduced to a percussive aesthetic. I then went to Bentley's where I ran into Mary King who I heard was a good singer. I asked her if she wanted to sing or rap over the track. She said I don't rap. I said try. Just listen to the 8 bars, then do something, don't judge your self. And out came her fake rap. Then I saw Lea waiting for a cab. I said can you lay a hook. She said I have to go soon, my cab is coming. I said listen for 8 bars then sing. She did so….just as she did her cab arrived and she said I got to go and that was that. I later visited all the parts and even heard some random girl yelling at her boyfriend in the background. I mixed it all together and expanded it and it is what is. A mixture of ambient noise and rapping and fake rapping and singing and chaos at the bars. Enjoy.
