This was the second song we recorded for Nat Saturn's Cracked Sanity. Nat is rapping about his life experiences with nods to his time in Stratford. We knew we wanted to include guests on the album. We reached out to Colin Markle who was making waves locally for his performances of rap covers. We welcomed Colin to the studio to contribute an 8 bar verse. His verse is the 5th take. It is his first serious original rap. Colin is well known to be great at doing technical and sometimes speedy covers of other great hip hop artists, but we wanted to give Colin a platform to speak his mind about real life and be vulnerable a bit. You can hear Nat and I celebrate in the background after Colin landed his revealing and heartfelt verse. We kept the celebration on the recording. We knew Colin loved big vocals hooks so we asked Laura Osburn who was an accomplished folk and rock singer to take her first stab at R&B styled vocals. She nailed it. Enjoy this teaser of what is to come on the LP.
