My first musical love in grade 4 was classical music. It stemmed from an album my mom bought me called Hooked on Classics where famous hooks from big name classical composers were synced with a Hip Hop beat. This opened a floodgate for me and led me to be an avid listener of Classical and Baroque music on CBC radio and have an interest in Concert Bands and Marching Bands. This song combines my passion for these types of bands and Jungle and Funk music. In high school I was the percussionist in our school concert band. We travelled around Ontario and Quebec and the US to perform. I really wanted to write a song with Timpani and Jungle breaks at the core and feature the wood xylophone and some horns and strings. These instruments are multi-sampled from the Boston Pops Orchestra. What a privilege it is to be able to launch ideas and compose with instruments sampled from them.
